We met in Pre-K. Yes… Pre-K. Tiny desks, juice boxes, and storytime — that kind of early. Back then, we weren’t best friends. We weren’t even in the same circle. Just two little humans who were always polite, maybe shared a smile in the hallway, but that was about it.

Then life did its thing.

In 2009, Trei moved to the U.S., and out of nowhere — we reconnected on Facebook. At first, it was casual. Just checking in, chatting here and there. But something about it felt easy… familiar… safe.

Trei says Chad became her safe space — someone who always showed up, even from miles away. And Chad? He stayed in Jamaica but never let distance define the friendship. Over time, that simple connection grew into something strong, steady, and unshakable.

So strong, in fact, that both of our moms — yes, both — started playfully predicting a wedding one day. They clearly saw what we hadn’t fully admitted yet.

Fast forward a few years… and that long-awaited reunion finally happened. We were both living in the States, both a little older (and a lot cuter), and when we saw each other again — the sparks weren’t just flying… they exploded.
